Ingredients

  • 1 cup Rice Flour
  • 1/4 cup Urad Dal Flour
  • 2 tablespoons, softened Butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon Asafoetida (Hing)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup, or as needed Water
  • for deep frying as needed Vegetable Oil

Instructions

  1. 1In a bowl, combine rice flour, urad dal flour, butter, asafoetida, cumin seeds, and salt.
  2. 2Gradually add water and mix to form a smooth, pliable dough.
  3. 3Fill a murukku press with the dough.
  4. 4Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or wok over medium heat.
  5. 5Press the dough through the murukku press directly into the hot oil in spiral shapes.
  6. 6Fry until golden brown and crispy.
  7. 7Remove and drain on paper towels. Let cool completely before storing.
