Ingredients

  • 4 cups Water
  • 2 tablespoons Green Tea
  • 1 cup Fresh Mint
  • 4 tablespoons Sugar
  • 8 pitted Medjool Dates

Instructions

  1. 1Pour the 4 cups of Water into a medium saucepan. Place the saucepan over high heat and bring the water to a rolling boil, which is when large bubbles rapidly break the surface. This should take about 5-7 minutes.
  2. 2Once the water is boiling, carefully add the 2 tablespoons of Green Tea to the saucepan. Reduce the heat to low and let the tea simmer gently for 2 minutes. You will see the water begin to turn a light brown color.
  3. 3Add the 1 cup of Fresh Mint and the 4 tablespoons of Sugar to the saucepan. Stir everything together gently with a spoon until the sugar has completely dissolved. You will notice the aroma of mint becoming stronger.
  4. 4Increase the heat slightly to medium-low and let the tea simmer for another 2 minutes. The liquid should be steaming and the mint leaves will have softened.
  5. 5Carefully pour the hot tea through a fine-mesh sieve into your serving glasses or a teapot. This will catch the tea leaves and mint pieces, leaving a clear liquid.
  6. 6Serve the hot Moroccan Mint Tea immediately. Place the 8 pitted Medjool Dates on the side for your guests to enjoy with their tea.
