Ingredients

  • 1 lb Frozen french fries
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp Chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala
  • 1/4 tsp Amchur (dried mango powder)
  • to taste Salt

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Place the 1 lb frozen french fries in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for 18 to 25 minutes, until the fries are golden brown and crispy.
  2. 2While the fries are baking, place a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the 2 tbsp vegetable oil and heat for 1 minute, until the oil shimmers.
  3. 3Add the 1 tsp chili powder, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp cumin powder, 1/2 tsp garam masala, 1/4 tsp amchur, and salt to taste to the hot oil in the saucepan. Stir constantly with a spoon for 30 seconds, until the spices become fragrant; be careful not to let them burn.
  4. 4Once the 1 lb frozen french fries are golden brown and crispy, carefully transfer them to a large bowl. Pour the heated masala mixture from the saucepan over the hot fries.
  5. 5Toss the fries gently with a spoon or tongs until all the fries are evenly coated with the spice blend. Serve the masala fries immediately while they are hot and crispy.
