Man'ouche Flatbread with Za'atar

Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Instant yeast
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 0.75 cup Warm water
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 0.25 cup Za'atar spice blend
  • 3 tbsp Additional olive oil

Instructions

  1. 1In a large bowl, combine flour, instant yeast, and salt. Add warm water and olive oil and mix until a dough forms.
  2. 2Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5-7 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.
  3. 3Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, turning to coat. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  4. 4Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).
  5. 5Divide the dough into 4 equal portions. Roll each portion into a thin circle.
  6. 6In a small bowl, combine za'atar spice blend with olive oil to make a paste.
  7. 7Spread the za'atar paste evenly over each flatbread.
  8. 8Place the flatbreads on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. 9Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
