Ingredients

  • 2.5 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Instant dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Warm water
  • 0.25 cup Olive oil
  • 0.5 cup Za'atar spice blend
  • 0.25 cup Olive oil (for topping)

Instructions

  1. 1In a large bowl, combine flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
  2. 2Add warm water and olive oil, and mix until a dough forms.
  3. 3Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5-7 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.
  4. 4Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  5. 5Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C).
  6. 6Divide the dough into 6 equal portions. Roll each portion into a thin circle.
  7. 7In a small bowl, mix za'atar with olive oil to form a paste.
  8. 8Spread the za'atar mixture evenly over each dough circle.
  9. 9Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the flatbreads are golden brown and the topping is fragrant.
