Ingredients

  • 2 lb Potatoes (cooked, peeled)
  • 1/2 cup Flour
  • 1 tablespoon Flaxseed Meal
  • 3 tablespoons Water
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 3 tablespoons Vegan Butter
  • 1 cup Apple Sauce

Instructions

  1. 1In a large bowl, mash the 2 lb of cooked, peeled potatoes until very smooth.
  2. 2In a small bowl, whisk together the 1 tablespoon of flaxseed meal and the 3 tablespoons of water. Let this mixture sit for 5 minutes to thicken.
  3. 3Add the thickened flaxseed mixture, the 1/2 cup of flour, and the 1/2 teaspoon of salt to the mashed potatoes. Mix everything together thoroughly until well combined.
  4. 4Place a large skillet over medium heat (350°F / 175°C). Add the 3 tablespoons of vegan butter to the skillet and let it melt.
  5. 5Drop rounded tablespoons of the potato mixture into the hot skillet. Gently flatten each mound slightly with the back of your spoon.
  6. 6Cook the potato maluns for 5 to 7 minutes on each side. They are ready when they are golden brown and crispy on the outside.
  7. 7Remove the cooked maluns from the skillet and serve them immediately with the 1 cup of apple sauce.
