Ingredients

  • 2 cups Cooked Potatoes (mashed)
  • 1/2 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 2 tbsp Plant-Based Butter or Oil
  • 1 cup Applesauce

Instructions

  1. 1In a medium bowl, combine the 2 cups of cooked mashed potatoes, 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Stir with a spoon until everything is just combined into a rough mixture.
  2. 2Place a 10-inch non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add the 2 tablespoons of plant-based butter or oil to the skillet and let it melt and warm up for about 1 minute.
  3. 3Carefully add the potato mixture from the bowl into the heated skillet. Use your spoon to break up the mixture into small lumps, about the size of a small grape.
  4. 4Cook the Maluns for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring and turning the lumps frequently with your spoon. Continue cooking until the Maluns are firm, crispy, and have developed a golden-brown color on most sides.
  5. 5Serve the hot Maluns immediately with the 1 cup of applesauce on the side.
