Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups Gluten-free coarse cornmeal (polenta)
  • 1.5 cups Water
  • 0.5 cup Milk
  • 4 tbsp Butter
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup Apple sauce
  • 0.5 cup Grated cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. 1In a saucepan, bring water and milk to a boil. Add salt.
  2. 2Gradually whisk in the gluten-free cornmeal, stirring constantly to prevent lumps.
  3. 3Reduce heat to low and cook, stirring frequently, until the mixture thickens into a dense porridge, about 15-20 minutes.
  4. 4Add butter to the pan and continue cooking, breaking up the porridge with a spoon until it forms small, golden-brown dumplings.
  5. 5Cook until the maluns are crispy on the outside, about 5-10 minutes.
  6. 6Serve hot with apple sauce and grated cheese (optional).
