Ingredients

  • 1 cup Rice Flour
  • 1/4 cup Tapioca Starch
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cardamom Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Active Dry Yeast
  • 3/4 cup Warm Water
  • 1/4 cup Agave Syrup
  • 2 cups Vegetable Oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. 1In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Let stand for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. 2In a large bowl, whisk together rice flour, tapioca starch, baking powder, salt, and cardamom powder.
  3. 3Add the yeast mixture to the dry ingredients and mix well to form a smooth batter.
  4. 4Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  5. 5Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  6. 6Using a small spoon or piping bag, carefully drop small balls of batter into the hot oil.
  7. 7Fry for 3-4 minutes, or until golden brown, turning occasionally to ensure even cooking.
  8. 8Remove the fried dough balls from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  9. 9Drizzle with agave syrup.
