Lebanese Rice Pilaf with Vermicelli

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Basmati rice
  • 0.25 cup Vermicelli noodles
  • 2 tbsp Butter or olive oil
  • 0.75 tsp Salt

Instructions

  1. 1Rinse the rice until the water runs clear.
  2. 2In a pot, melt the butter or heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the vermicelli noodles and cook, stirring frequently, until golden brown.
  3. 3Add the rice and salt to the pot. Cook, stirring constantly, for 1 minute.
  4. 4Add 2 cups of water to the pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed.
  5. 5Fluff the rice with a fork and serve.
