Ingredients

  • 1 cup Dried black soybeans
  • 4 cups Water
  • 1/4 cup Soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Honey
  • 1 tbsp Mirin (or rice wine)
  • 1 tsp Sesame oil
  • 1 tsp Sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. 1Rinse the dried black soybeans and soak them in water for at least 4 hours, or overnight.
  2. 2Drain the soybeans and transfer them to a pot.
  3. 3Add 4 cups of water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
  4. 4Add soy sauce, sugar, honey, and mirin to the pot.
  5. 5Continue to simmer for another 30 minutes, or until the soybeans are tender and the sauce has thickened.
  6. 6Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
  7. 7Stir in sesame oil and sesame seeds before serving.
