Ingredients

  • 4 slices White Bread
  • 4 ounces Akawi Cheese
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
  • 1 teaspoon Orange Blossom Water
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar Syrup

Instructions

  1. 1Place a 10-inch skillet over medium heat (325°F / 163°C). Add the 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter to the skillet and let it melt.
  2. 2While the butter melts, spread the melted butter evenly on both sides of each of the 4 slices of white bread.
  3. 3Place 2 slices of the buttered bread into the heated skillet. Sprinkle half of the 4 ounces of Akawi cheese, shredded, over the 2 slices of bread in the skillet.
  4. 4Place the remaining 2 slices of buttered bread on top of the cheese. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes, or until the bottom slices are golden brown and the cheese is melted and gooey.
  5. 5Carefully flip the Knafeh toast over using a spatula. Cook the other side for another 3 to 5 minutes, or until it is also golden brown and the cheese is fully melted.
  6. 6Remove the Knafeh toast from the skillet. Immediately drizzle the 1 teaspoon of orange blossom water over the top.
  7. 7Drizzle the 2 tablespoons of sugar syrup over the Knafeh toast and serve right away.
