Ingredients

  • 4 cups Water
  • 1 lb Fruit (berries, apples, etc.)
  • 0.5 cup Sugar
  • 3 tbsp Potato starch
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice

Instructions

  1. 1In a saucepan, combine the water and fruit. Bring to a boil.
  2. 2Reduce heat and simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until the fruit is softened.
  3. 3In a small bowl, whisk together the sugar and potato starch.
  4. 4Gradually add the sugar-starch mixture to the simmering fruit, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
  5. 5Continue stirring until the mixture thickens and becomes translucent.
  6. 6Remove from heat and stir in the lemon juice.
  7. 7Pour the kisiel into individual serving dishes.
  8. 8Let cool slightly before serving. Can be served warm or chilled.
