  • 1.5 cups Yellow Split Peas
  • 4 cups Water
  • 0.5 medium Red Onion
  • 3 cloves Garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger
  • 0.5 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 2 tablespoons Niter Kibbeh (Spiced Clarified Butter)
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt

Instructions

  1. 1Rinse the split peas in a colander.
  2. 2In a pot, sauté the finely chopped red onion in niter kibbeh until softened.
  3. 3Add minced garlic, ginger, and turmeric powder. Cook for 1 minute.
