Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Popcorn kernels
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp Ketchup powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp Onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp Paprika
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Salt

Instructions

  1. 1Place a large, heavy-bottomed pot on the stove over medium heat. Add the 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil and let it heat up for about 1 minute until it shimmers.
  2. 2Carefully add the 1/2 cup of popcorn kernels to the heated oil. Immediately cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid.
  3. 3Cook the popcorn, shaking the pot gently every 30 seconds, until the popping slows to about 2-3 seconds between each pop. This should take approximately 5 to 10 minutes.
  4. 4Once the popping has significantly slowed, carefully remove the pot from the heat. Let it sit for 30 seconds to ensure all kernels have popped. Transfer the popped popcorn to a large bowl.
  5. 5In a separate small bowl, combine the 2 tablespoons of ketchup powder, 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder, 1/4 teaspoon of paprika, 1 teaspoon of sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Whisk these ingredients together until they are well mixed.
  6. 6Evenly sprinkle the ketchup powder mixture over the 1/2 cup of popped popcorn in the large bowl. Toss the popcorn gently with your hands or a large spoon for about 1 minute, ensuring every piece is coated with the seasoning.
  7. 7Serve the ketchup chips popcorn immediately for the best flavor and texture.
