Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds Chicken Pieces
  • 2 cups Brown Rice
  • 1 large Onion
  • 3 cloves Garlic
  • 2 tablespoons Ginger
  • 2 tablespoons Pilau Masala
  • 4 cups Chicken Broth
  • 1 leaf Bay Leaf
  • 3 tablespoons Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt

Instructions

  1. 1Wash the brown rice and set aside. Chop the onion, mince the garlic, and grate the ginger.
  2. 2Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Brown the chicken pieces on all sides. Remove and set aside.
  3. 3In the same pot, sauté the chopped onion, minced garlic, and grated ginger until softened.
  4. 4Add the pilau masala and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  5. 5Add the washed brown rice and chicken broth. Bring to a boil.
  6. 6Return the browned chicken pieces to the pot. Add the bay leaf and salt.
  7. 7Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 45-50 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and the liquid is absorbed.
  8. 8Remove the bay leaf and fluff the pilau with a fork. Serve hot.
