Ingredients

  • 1 cup Buckwheat groats
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 1 medium Apple
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 0.25 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tsp Marjoram

Instructions

  1. 1Rinse the buckwheat groats under cold water.
  2. 2In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Add the buckwheat groats and salt, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the groats are tender and the water is absorbed.
  3. 3While the groats are cooking, dice the onion and apple.
  4. 4Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  5. 5Add the diced onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  6. 6Add the diced apple and cook until slightly softened, about 3 minutes.
  7. 7Add the cooked buckwheat groats to the skillet and stir to combine.
  8. 8Season with salt, pepper, and marjoram.
  9. 9Cook for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until heated through and slightly browned.
  10. 10Serve warm.
