Ingredients

  • 3 lb Pork Shoulder
  • 2 tablespoons Hawaiian Sea Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Liquid Smoke
  • 1 cup Pineapple
  • 2 cups Cabbage (shredded)
  • 1/4 cup Mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 12 buns Gluten-Free Slider Buns

Instructions

  1. 1In a slow cooker, place the 3 lb pork shoulder. Rub it all over with the 2 tablespoons of Hawaiian sea salt and the 1 teaspoon of liquid smoke, ensuring it is evenly coated.
  2. 2Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours. The pork is ready when it is very tender and can be easily pulled apart with two forks.
  3. 3While the pork is cooking, prepare the pineapple slaw. In a medium bowl, combine the 2 cups of shredded cabbage, the 1 cup of pineapple, the 1/4 cup of mayonnaise, and the 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. Mix everything together until the cabbage and pineapple are well coated.
  4. 4Once the pork shoulder is cooked and tender, remove it from the slow cooker. Using two forks, shred the pork into bite-sized pieces.
  5. 5To assemble the sliders, take the 12 gluten-free slider buns. Place a generous amount of the shredded pork onto the bottom half of each bun.
  6. 6Top the shredded pork on each bun with a portion of the prepared pineapple slaw.
  7. 7Serve the Kalua Pig Sliders immediately.
