Ingredients

  • 4 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Baking soda
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Granulated sugar
  • 1.75 cups Dairy-free buttermilk
  • 2 tbsp Dairy-free butter, melted
  • 4 tbsp Dairy-free butter, for serving
  • 4 tbsp Jam, for serving

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. 2In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and sugar.
  3. 3Make a well in the center and pour in the dairy-free buttermilk and melted dairy-free butter.
  4. 4Stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. 5Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently shape into a round loaf.
  6. 6Place the loaf on the prepared baking sheet. Cut a cross into the top of the loaf.
  7. 7Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. 8Let cool slightly before slicing and serving with dairy-free butter and jam.
