Irish Soda Bread with Apple Butter (Peanut-Free)

Ingredients

  • 4 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1.75 cups Buttermilk
  • 0.5 cup Apple Butter

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. 2In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. 3Make a well in the center and pour in the buttermilk.
  4. 4Mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. 5Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and shape into a round loaf.
  6. 6Place the loaf on a baking sheet and cut a cross into the top.
  7. 7Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. 8Let cool slightly before slicing and serving with apple butter.
