Ingredients

  • 3 cups Self-Raising Flour
  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese
  • 2 tbsp Horopito Leaves
  • 100 g Butter
  • 3/4 cup Milk (Dairy)
  • 1/2 tsp Salt

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F).
  2. 2Finely chop the horopito leaves. Grate the cheddar cheese.
  3. 3In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, cheese, and horopito.
  4. 4Rub the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles breadcrumbs.
  5. 5Gradually add the milk, mixing until just combined.
  6. 6Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently pat it down to about 2cm (3/4 inch) thickness.
  7. 7Use a round cutter or knife to cut out the scones.
  8. 8Place the scones on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
