Ingredients

  • 1 cup Wheat berries
  • 1 lb Chicken (boneless, skinless)
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 6 cups Chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp Ghee
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Cinnamon (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. 1Soak the wheat berries in water for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.
  2. 2In a large pot, combine the soaked wheat berries, chicken, chopped onion, and chicken broth.
  3. 3Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 3 hours, or until the chicken is very tender and the wheat has broken down.
  4. 4Use a wooden spoon or an immersion blender to mash the mixture until it reaches a smooth, creamy consistency.
  5. 5Stir in ghee and salt.
  6. 6Serve hot, garnished with cinnamon.
