Ingredients

  • 2 cups Gluten-free all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Gluten-free whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp Baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 2 tbsp Brown sugar
  • 1 cup Guinness (check label for soy)
  • 1/2 cup Dairy-free milk (oat or rice)
  • 1 tbsp Apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp Dairy-free butter, softened
  • 1 tbsp Molasses

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. 2In a large mixing bowl, combine the 2 cups of Gluten-free all-purpose flour, the 1 cup of Gluten-free whole wheat flour, the 1 tsp of Baking soda, the 1/2 tsp of Salt, and the 2 tbsp of Brown sugar. Whisk these dry ingredients together until they are well combined.
  3. 3In a separate medium-sized bowl, pour the 1 cup of Guinness, the 1/2 cup of Dairy-free milk, the 1 tbsp of Apple cider vinegar, and the 1 tbsp of Molasses. Stir these wet ingredients together until they are fully mixed.
  4. 4Pour the wet ingredient mixture from the medium bowl into the large bowl containing the dry ingredients. Stir gently with a spoon or spatula until the ingredients are just combined and no dry streaks of flour remain. Be careful not to overmix the batter.
  5. 5Carefully pour the prepared batter into a standard loaf pan. Place the loaf pan into the preheated oven at 375°F (190°C).
  6. 6Bake the bread for 40 to 45 minutes. To check for doneness, insert a toothpick into the center of the loaf; it should come out clean when the bread is fully baked.
  7. 7Remove the loaf pan from the oven and allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes. This resting time helps the bread set. After 10 minutes, carefully transfer the bread from the pan to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. 8Serve the Guinness Brown Bread warm. Offer the 2 tbsp of Dairy-free butter, softened, alongside for spreading.
