Ingredients

  • 2 cups Rolled Oats
  • 4 cups Water
  • 4 tablespoons Tahini (sesame paste)
  • 1/2 cup Dates (pitted and chopped)
  • 2 tablespoons Honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt

Instructions

  1. 1In a large heavy-bottomed pot, combine the 4 cups of water and the 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Bring the water to a rolling boil over high heat, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. 2Once boiling, carefully add the 2 cups of rolled oats to the pot. Reduce the heat to low, so the mixture is just gently bubbling. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the oats are tender and the oatmeal has thickened to your desired consistency. You will see it become creamy and less watery.
  3. 3Remove the pot from the heat. Stir in the 4 tablespoons of tahini, the 1/2 cup of chopped dates, the 2 tablespoons of honey, and the 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon until everything is well combined and the tahini is smoothly incorporated.
  4. 4Serve the Greek style oatmeal immediately in bowls.
