Ingredients

  • 4 slices Gluten-Free Bread
  • 8 oz Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • 1/4 cup Gluten-Free Ale or Cider
  • 1 tsp Dijon Mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce (gluten-free)
  • 1 tbsp Butter
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/4 tsp Paprika

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat your broiler to medium-high heat. This is approximately 450°F (230°C).
  2. 2Toast the 4 slices of gluten-free bread until they are lightly golden brown on both sides.
  3. 3In a medium saucepan, melt the 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat.
  4. 4Add the 8 oz of sharp cheddar cheese, 1/4 cup of gluten-free ale or cider, 1 teaspoon of Dijon mustard, and 1 teaspoon of gluten-free Worcestershire sauce to the saucepan.
  5. 5Stir the mixture constantly over medium heat until the 8 oz of sharp cheddar cheese is completely melted and the mixture is smooth and creamy. This should take about 5-7 minutes.
  6. 6Stir in the 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper and 1/4 teaspoon of paprika until well combined.
  7. 7Spoon the smooth cheese mixture evenly over the 4 slices of toasted gluten-free bread.
  8. 8Place the toasts under the preheated broiler for 2-3 minutes, watching carefully, until the cheese mixture is bubbly and has golden brown spots.
  9. 9Serve the Gluten-Free Welsh Rarebit Toasts immediately.
