Gluten-Free Khasi Ko Masu (Goat Curry)

Ingredients

  • 2 lb Goat meat, bone-in
  • 2 medium Onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp Ginger, minced
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp Cumin powder
  • 2 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Garam masala
  • 2 Bay leaves
  • 1 Cinnamon stick
  • 4 Cardamom pods
  • 3 tbsp Mustard oil
  • 4 cups Water
  • 1.5 tsp Salt
  • 2 tbsp Cilantro, chopped

Instructions

  1. 1Heat mustard oil in a large pot or pressure cooker. Add onions and sauté until golden brown.
  2. 2Add garlic and ginger and sauté for another minute.
  3. 3Add goat meat and sauté until browned on all sides.
  4. 4Add turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, bay leaves, cinnamon stick, and cardamom pods. Sauté for 2-3 minutes.
  5. 5Pour in water and salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1.5-2 hours, or until the goat meat is tender. If using a pressure cooker, cook for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
  6. 6Garnish with cilantro and serve hot with rice.
