Gluten-Free Hainanese Pork Chop

A gluten-free and nut-free take on the classic Hainanese Pork Chop. Crispy pork cutlets are served with a sweet and tangy tomato-based sauce.

Ingredients

  • 4 4-6 oz each Pork loin chops
  • 1 cup Gluten-free breadcrumbs
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1/2 cup Tomato ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (gluten-free)
  • 1 tbsp Light brown sugar
  • 1/2 medium Onion
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1/2 cup Green peas
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. 1Season pork chops with salt and pepper.
  2. 2In a shallow dish, beat the egg. In another dish, place gluten-free breadcrumbs.
  3. 3Dip each pork chop in the egg, then dredge in the breadcrumbs, ensuring they are fully coated.
  4. 4Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry the pork chops until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per side.
  5. 5While pork chops are frying, prepare the sauce. Sauté diced onion and garlic until softened.
  6. 6Add ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar. Simmer for 5 minutes, then stir in green peas.
  7. 7Serve the crispy pork chops with the tomato sauce poured over.
