Ingredients

  • 2 each Gluten-free frikandellen
  • 1 lb Potatoes, cut into fries
  • 2 tbsp Mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp Curry ketchup
  • 2 tbsp Chopped onions
  • 4 cups Oil for deep frying
  • 1/4 tsp Salt

Instructions

  1. 1Pour the 4 cups of oil for deep frying into a deep fryer or a large, heavy-bottomed pot. Heat the oil to 350°F (175°C) over medium-high heat.
  2. 2Carefully add the 1 lb of potatoes, which are already cut into fries, to the hot oil. Fry them for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are golden brown and visibly crispy.
  3. 3Using a slotted spoon, carefully remove the cooked fries from the oil and transfer them to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Immediately sprinkle the 1/4 tsp of salt evenly over the hot fries.
  4. 4Carefully place the 2 Gluten-free frikandellen into the same hot oil. Fry them for 3 to 4 minutes, turning once halfway through, until they are heated through and lightly browned on all sides.
  5. 5Remove the cooked frikandellen from the oil and place them on a clean cutting board. Using a sharp knife, carefully cut each of the 2 frikandellen lengthwise, stopping just before you cut all the way through, so they open up slightly like a book.
  6. 6Arrange the cut frikandellen on a serving plate alongside the salted fries. Spoon the 2 tbsp of mayonnaise, the 2 tbsp of curry ketchup, and the 2 tbsp of chopped onions evenly over the opened frikandellen.
