Ingredients

  • 2 slices Gluten-free bread slices
  • 4 oz Cooked ham
  • 2 oz Gruyere cheese
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp Butter

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat your oven's broiler to high (approximately 500°F / 260°C).
  2. 2Evenly spread the 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard over the top surface of each of the 2 gluten-free bread slices.
  3. 3Place the 4 oz of cooked ham evenly on top of the mustard-spread gluten-free bread slices, then distribute the 2 oz of Gruyere cheese over the ham.
  4. 4In a small microwave-safe bowl or a small saucepan over low heat, melt the 1 tablespoon of butter. Using a pastry brush, gently brush the melted butter over the Gruyere cheese on each tartine.
  5. 5Carefully transfer the tartines to a baking sheet. Place the baking sheet on the middle rack, approximately 6 inches (15 cm) from the broiler element, and broil for 3 to 5 minutes. Watch closely: the tartines are done when the 2 oz of Gruyere cheese is fully melted, bubbly, and lightly golden brown, and the edges of the gluten-free bread slices are slightly toasted.
  6. 6Serve immediately.
