Ingredients

  • 1 cup Tom Brown Cereal (nut-free)
  • 3 cups Water
  • 1 cup Milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar
  • pinch Salt

Instructions

  1. 1In a large heavy-bottomed pot, combine the 1 cup Tom Brown Cereal (nut-free), 3 cups Water, and pinch Salt.
  2. 2Place the pot over medium heat and bring the mixture to a boil, stirring constantly with a whisk to prevent any lumps from forming. This should take about 5 minutes.
  3. 3Once boiling, reduce the heat to low. Let the cereal simmer gently for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it has thickened to your desired consistency. It should look like a thick porridge.
  4. 4Stir in the 2 tablespoons Sugar until it is fully dissolved. Taste the cereal and add more sugar if you prefer it sweeter.
  5. 5Serve the Tom Brown Cereal hot. You can add the 1 cup Milk to each serving, or stir it into the pot before serving if you like a creamier consistency.
