Ghanaian Plantain Chips (Kelewele)

Ingredients

  • 2 large Plantains
  • 1 tsp Ginger
  • 1/4 tsp Cayenne Pepper
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 2 cups Vegetable Oil

Instructions

  1. 1In a bowl, combine diced plantains, grated ginger, cayenne pepper, and salt. Mix well.
  2. 2Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or pot over medium-high heat.
  3. 3Carefully add the plantain pieces to the hot oil in batches.
  4. 4Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-5 minutes per batch.
  5. 5Remove the plantain chips from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
