Ingredients

  • 500 g Potatoes, small, new potatoes
  • 3 tbsp Soy sauce (gluten-free)
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Mirin (sweet rice wine)
  • 1 clove Garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp Sesame oil
  • 1 tsp Sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. 1Wash and scrub the potatoes. If the potatoes are large, cut them into smaller, bite-sized pieces.
  2. 2In a pot or deep skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat.
  3. 3Add the potatoes to the pot and sauté for about 5 minutes, until slightly browned.
  4. 4Add gluten-free soy sauce, sugar, mirin, minced garlic, and water to the pot. Stir well.
  5. 5Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low. Cover the pot and braise for about 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the sauce has thickened.
  6. 6Remove the lid and cook for another 5 minutes to allow the sauce to further reduce and glaze the potatoes.
  7. 7Stir in sesame oil and sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving.
