Ingredients

  • 2 cups Rolled oats
  • 4 cups Water or dairy-free milk
  • 2 Apples, peeled and diced
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons Maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon Dairy-free butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt

Instructions

  1. 1In a saucepan, bring water or dairy-free milk to a boil. Add salt.
  2. 2Stir in rolled oats and reduce heat to low. Simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the oats are cooked and the oatmeal is thickened.
  3. 3While the oatmeal is cooking, melt dairy-free butter in a separate pan. Add diced apples and cinnamon.
  4. 4Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the apples are softened (about 5-7 minutes).
  5. 5Serve oatmeal topped with sautéed apples and a drizzle of maple syrup.
