Ingredients

  • 1 pound Beef sirloin
  • 1/2 medium Cabbage
  • 2 medium Carrots
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 3 cloves Garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon Berbere spice blend
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt

Instructions

  1. 1In a wok or large skillet, heat vegetable oil over high heat.
  2. 2Add thinly sliced beef and stir-fry until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove beef from the skillet and set aside.
  3. 3Add sliced onion to the skillet and stir-fry until softened, about 2 minutes.
  4. 4Add minced garlic and grated ginger and cook for 1 minute.
  5. 5Add shredded cabbage and julienned carrots and stir-fry until slightly softened, about 5 minutes.
  6. 6Return the beef to the skillet.
  7. 7Stir in berbere spice blend and soy sauce. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly.
  8. 8Season with salt to taste.
  9. 9Serve hot with rice or injera.
