Egyptian Rice Pudding (Roz Bel Laban)

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Short-grain rice
  • 4 cups Milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon, for garnish

Instructions

  1. 1Rinse the rice in a fine-mesh sieve until the water runs clear.
  2. 2In a medium saucepan, combine the rice and milk.
  3. 3Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 30-40 minutes, or until the rice is soft and the mixture has thickened.
  4. 4Stir in the sugar and vanilla extract.
  5. 5Continue to simmer for another 5 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sugar is dissolved and the pudding is smooth.
  6. 6Pour the rice pudding into individual serving bowls or a large serving dish.
