Ingredients

  • 1 lb Dry Curd Cottage Cheese (Farmer's Cheese)
  • 0.5 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 2 tbsp Milk
  • 2 tbsp Oil (for frying)
  • 1 cup Mixed Berries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 tbsp Powdered Sugar

Instructions

  1. 1In a large bowl, combine the cottage cheese, flour, sugar, vanilla extract, and milk.
  2. 2Mix well until a smooth batter forms.
  3. 3Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  4. 4Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil. Cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. 5While syrniki are cooking, prepare the berry sauce: Combine the mixed berries, sugar and lemon juice in a saucepan.
  6. 6Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the berries soften and release their juices. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  7. 7Serve the syrniki hot with the berry sauce and a dusting of powdered sugar.
