Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 0.25 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup Butter, cold and cubed
  • 2 tbsp Milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 1 tsp Almond extract

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round baking pan.
  2. 2In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, and salt.
  3. 3Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. 4Stir in the milk and almond extract until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. 5Press the dough evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  6. 6Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. 7Let cool completely before slicing and serving.
