Ingredients

  • 1 lb Frozen Edamame Pods
  • 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce (Tamari for Gluten-Free)
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Oil
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Rice Vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Seeds

Instructions

  1. 1Fill a medium pot with about 1 inch (2.5 cm) of water. Place a steamer basket into the pot, ensuring the water does not touch the bottom of the basket. Bring the water to a boil over high heat (212°F / 100°C).
  2. 2Add the 1 lb of frozen edamame pods to the steamer basket. Cover the pot and steam for 5 to 7 minutes, or until the edamame pods are bright green and tender when bitten.
  3. 3While the edamame is steaming, prepare the sauce. Peel and finely mince the 2 cloves of garlic. In a small bowl, combine the 2 tablespoons of Tamari, 1 tablespoon of sesame oil, the minced garlic, and 1 teaspoon of rice vinegar. Whisk these ingredients together until well combined.
  4. 4Once steamed, carefully remove the steamer basket from the pot. Transfer the cooked 1 lb of edamame pods to a medium serving bowl.
  5. 5Pour the prepared sesame-garlic sauce evenly over the edamame pods in the serving bowl. Gently toss the edamame with a spoon or tongs until all pods are thoroughly coated with the sauce. Sprinkle the 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds over the sauced edamame and serve immediately while warm.
