Ingredients

  • 1 lb Frozen Edamame (in pods)
  • 1 tablespoon Sea Salt
  • 2 cups Water

Instructions

  1. 1Pour the 2 cups of water into a large pot. Place the pot over high heat and bring the water to a rolling boil. This should take about 5-8 minutes.
  2. 2Carefully add the 1 lb of frozen edamame (in pods) to the pot of boiling water. Stir gently to ensure the edamame is submerged.
  3. 3Cover the pot and reduce the heat to medium. Let the edamame steam for 5 to 6 minutes, or until the pods are tender and the beans inside are a bright green color. You can test for tenderness by carefully removing one pod and tasting the beans.
  4. 4Once the edamame is cooked, carefully drain all the water from the pot. You can use a colander or simply tilt the pot to pour out the water, making sure to hold back the edamame.
  5. 5Sprinkle the 1 tablespoon of sea salt evenly over the hot edamame. Toss gently to distribute the salt.
  6. 6Serve the edamame immediately while it is still warm.
