  • 4 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 1 pound Fresh Green Beans
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) Diced Tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper

Instructions

  1. 1Place a large pot over medium heat (350°F/175°C) and add the 4 tablespoons of Olive Oil.
  2. 2Add the 1 medium Onion, chopped into small pieces, to the pot and cook until it looks soft and see-through, about 5 minutes.
  3. 3Add the 1 pound of Fresh Green Beans, trimmed, to the pot and cook while stirring sometimes, for 5 minutes.
  4. 4Pour in the 1 can (14.5 oz) of Diced Tomatoes, then add the 1 teaspoon of Sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of Salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of Black Pepper.
  5. 5Stir everything together and bring the mixture to a gentle bubble. Once bubbling, turn the heat down to low, put a lid on the pot, and let it cook for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the green beans are soft enough to eat easily.
  6. 6Serve the green beans warm or let them cool down to serve cold.
