Dairy-Free Tourtière (Meat Pie)

Ingredients

• about 450 g Ground pork
• about 450 g Ground beef
• 1 medium Onion
• 2 cloves Garlic
• 1/2 teaspoon Ground cloves
• 1/2 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
• 1 teaspoon Dried thyme
• 1/2 cup Chicken broth
• 1 teaspoon Salt
• 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper
• 2 prepared Dairy-free pie crust

Instructions

1. 1Preheat oven to 190°C.
2. 2In a large skillet, brown ground pork and ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
3. 3Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until softened.
4. 4Stir in ground cloves, ground cinnamon, dried thyme, chicken broth, salt, and pepper.
5. 5Simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, to allow flavors to meld.
6. 6Line a pie dish with one dairy-free pie crust. Pour the meat mixture into the crust.
7. 7Top with the second pie crust and crimp the edges to seal. Cut slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
8. 8Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
9. 9Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
