Ingredients

  • 2 cups Cooked Japanese Rice
  • 4 oz Firm Tofu
  • 2 tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Mirin
  • 1/4 tsp Dashi Powder
  • 2 tbsp Green Onions
  • 1 tsp Sesame Oil

Instructions

  1. 1Prepare the tofu sauce: Add the 4 oz Firm Tofu, 2 tbsp Soy Sauce, 1 tbsp Mirin, and 1/4 tsp Dashi Powder to a blender. Blend on high speed until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy, with no lumps remaining.
  2. 2Warm the 2 cups Cooked Japanese Rice. You can do this in a microwave on high for 1-2 minutes, or in a pot on the stovetop over medium-low heat for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally until heated through.
  3. 3Divide the warmed 2 cups Cooked Japanese Rice between two serving bowls.
  4. 4Pour the smooth tofu sauce evenly over the rice in each bowl.
  5. 5Drizzle 1 tsp Sesame Oil over the sauce in both bowls.
  6. 6Garnish generously with the 2 tbsp Green Onions.
  7. 7Serve immediately.

Substitutions

Tofu provides a similar creamy texture and mouthfeel. Soy sauce, mirin, and dashi create umami.
