Dairy-Free Sel Roti (Rice Flour Donuts)

Traditional Nepali homemade, ring-shaped sweet rice bread/doughnuts. Made completely without dairy and gluten-free.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Gluten-free rice flour
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1/2 tsp Cardamom powder
  • 3 cups Vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. 1In a large bowl, combine gluten-free rice flour, sugar, and cardamom powder.
  2. 2Gradually add water, mixing well until you get a smooth batter with a pouring consistency.
  3. 3Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan or wok over medium heat.
  4. 4Pour the batter into the hot oil in a circular motion to form a ring shape.
  5. 5Fry the sel roti until golden brown on both sides.
  6. 6Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
  7. 7Serve warm or at room temperature.
