Ingredients

  • 4 Ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup Rice flour
  • 1/4 cup Tapioca starch
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • for frying Vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. 1In a medium bowl, whisk together the 1/2 cup rice flour, 1/4 cup tapioca starch, 2 tablespoons sugar, and 1/4 teaspoon salt until well combined.
  2. 2Gradually add the 1/2 cup water to the dry ingredients while whisking continuously to create a smooth, lump-free batter. Set aside.
  3. 3Pour enough vegetable oil into a large, heavy-bottomed pot or wok to reach a depth of about 2-3 inches. Heat the oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  4. 4Peel the 4 ripe bananas and cut each one in half lengthwise, or into 1/2-inch thick slices.
  5. 5Dip each banana piece into the prepared batter, turning to ensure it is completely coated on all sides.
  6. 6Carefully place the battered banana pieces into the hot vegetable oil, being careful not to overcrowd the pot. Fry for 3-5 minutes, turning occasionally, until the fritters are golden brown and crispy.
  7. 7Using a slotted spoon, remove the fried banana fritters from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.
  8. 8Serve the dairy-free pisang goreng hot.
