  • 1/4 cup Urad Dal Flour (Black Lentil Flour)
  • 1/4 tsp Asafoetida (Hing)
  • 1 tsp Red Chili Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • For frying Coconut Oil

Instructions

  1. 1In a bowl, combine rice flour, urad dal flour, asafoetida, red chili powder, cumin seeds, and salt.
  2. 2Add water gradually to form a smooth, pliable dough.
  3. 3Heat coconut oil in a deep frying pan or wok over medium heat.
  4. 4Using a murukku press, press the dough directly into the hot oil, forming spirals.
  5. 5Fry until golden brown and crispy (about 3-5 minutes per batch).
  6. 6Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Let cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
