Ingredients

  • 2.5 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 cup Olive oil
  • 0.75 cup Water
  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 0.5 medium Green bell pepper
  • 1 14 oz can Diced tomatoes
  • 0.25 cup Raisins
  • 0.25 cup Olives
  • 1 tsp Spices (cumin, oregano)
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 0.25 tsp Black pepper

Instructions

  1. 1Prepare the dough: In a bowl, combine flour and salt. Add olive oil and water, and mix until a dough forms. Knead for 5 minutes, then let rest for 30 minutes.
  2. 2Prepare the filling: Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  3. 3Add onion, garlic, and bell pepper to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  4. 4Stir in diced tomatoes, raisins, olives, spices, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes.
  5. 5Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  6. 6Roll out the dough and cut into circles. Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each circle.
  7. 7Fold the dough over to form a half-moon shape and crimp the edges to seal.
  8. 8Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
