Cuban Style Corn Fritters (Buñuelos de Maíz)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Corn Kernels
  • 1/4 cup Cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup Milk
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 2 cups Vegetable Oil

Instructions

  1. 1In a blender or food processor, blend the corn kernels until smooth.
  2. 2In a bowl, combine the blended corn, cornstarch, milk, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
  3. 3Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  4. 4Drop spoonfuls of the corn mixture into the hot oil.
  5. 5Fry until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  6. 6Remove and drain on paper towels. Serve warm.
