Ingredients

  • 1 cup Water
  • 4 tbsp Butter
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup Gluten-Free All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 large Eggs
  • for frying Vegetable Oil
  • for dusting Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Milk

Instructions

  1. 1In a saucepan, bring water, butter, and salt to a boil.
  2. 2Remove from heat and quickly stir in the gluten-free flour until a smooth dough forms.
  3. 3Let the dough cool slightly, then beat in the eggs one at a time until well combined.
  4. 4Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  5. 5Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
  6. 6Pipe churros directly into the hot oil, about 4-6 inches long. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  7. 7Remove churros from the oil and drain on paper towels. Dust with sugar.
  8. 8For the chocolate sauce, whisk together cocoa powder, sugar, and milk in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer, stirring constantly, until the sauce is smooth and thickened.
  9. 9Serve churros hot with chocolate sauce for dipping.
