Ingredients

  • about 113 g Dairy-Free Chocolate (chopped)
  • 4 cups Water
  • 4 tbsp Panela (or brown sugar)
  • 1 each Cinnamon Stick
  • 1 cup Dairy-Free Cheese (cut into cubes)

Original measure retained: its cup/spoon or fluid-volume standard is unspecified.

Instructions

  1. 1In a medium saucepan, combine the 4 cups of water, 4 tablespoons of panela, and 1 cinnamon stick.
  2. 2Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring occasionally until the 4 tablespoons of panela have completely dissolved. This should take about 5 minutes.
  3. 3Once the panela is dissolved, add the about 113 g of dairy-free chocolate (chopped) to the saucepan. Continue to heat over medium heat, whisking constantly, for about 5-7 minutes, or until the chocolate is fully melted and the mixture is smooth and steaming. Do not let it boil.
  4. 4Carefully ladle the hot chocolate into four mugs. Serve immediately with the 1 cup of dairy-free cheese (cut into cubes) on the side for dipping.
