Ingredients

  • 1 cup White rice
  • 8 cups Water
  • 1/2 lb Ground pork
  • 1 tbsp Ginger, minced
  • 1 tbsp Garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Fish sauce
  • 2 tbsp Green onions, chopped
  • 1/4 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tsp Vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. 1Rinse the white rice under cold water.
  2. 2In a large pot, combine the rice and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 45 minutes, or until the rice is very soft and the mixture has thickened.
  3. 3While the rice is cooking, heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  4. 4Add the minced ginger and garlic to the skillet and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. 5Add the ground pork to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
  6. 6Stir the cooked pork mixture into the rice porridge.
  7. 7Season with fish sauce and black pepper.
  8. 8Simmer for another 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  9. 9Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions.
